The Tarr is the main antagonist of Slime Rancher, where it is a threat constantly looming over a diverse ranch, as it eats Meat and Slimes and ruins crops. The Tarr has a unique spawning condition, it can only spawn if a Largo eats a plort that is not its own. For example, if a Pink Rock Largo ate a Tabby plort, a Tarr would be formed. The Tarr is a rainbow array of colours, it can grab slimes and close in on them. Once a slime is eaten by the Tarr, a new Tarr is plorted out instead of a regular plort, making it like a deadly virus one cannot contain. To eliminate a Tarr, throw it into The Slime Sea or an incinerator, or if you cannot access these things at a time, spray it with fresh water or dump it into a pool full of it, it acts like poison to a Tarr. This seems to be a risk directed towards Largo ranching, where if you mix up a slime by accident, the ranch falls onto its knees and has to be recovered if not swift about action.
Ranching tips
Tarr eat veggies, fruit and slimes, but not Gold Slimes. Because of this it can spread rapidly through out the ranch. Fresh water does not kill the Tarr and it will continue to expand.

Slimeology
The tarr are formed when a largo eats a plort unlike the ones it produces. A terrible transformation occurs that turns the slime into a sludge filled with a swirling, prismatic array of colors and a relentless appetite. The tarr seek only to consume and replicate.
The only way to stop a tarr outside of incinerating it or throwing it into the slime sea is with fresh water. One splash will stop a tarr from spawning new tarr, and repeated splashes will destroy it entirely.
Alternatively many ranchers recommend running away with their arms waving, screaming.
Rancher Risks
The Tarr are the single biggest threat to ranchers. The Tarr will seek out slimes to consume and replicate themselves, but also devour chickens, rot crops in their proximity, and even devour ranchers!
Remember: Ranching largos may be highly profitable, but one stray plort and you could wind up with a devastating tarr outbreak.
Plortonomics
The tarr produce no plorts, only more tarr. And then more tarr still.
